Cash taken in break-in at Worcester cannabis dispensary – Worcester Telegram

WORCESTER – Police are investigating a break-in over the weekend at the Good Chemistry cannabis dispensary on Harrison Street.

Police said the suspects targeted the ATM of the cash-only business early Sunday morning, but they don’t believe any marijuana was taken.

Police went to the 9 Harrison St. dispensary, which sells both recreational and medical-use marijuana, around 4:14 a.m., responding to reports of a break-in.

Detectives learned that two men entered by damaging the doorway and targeted the ATM machine. There was nobody in the store at the time of the break-in.

Police said the investigation continues; anyone with information may send an anonymous text to 274637 beginning with TIPWPD, or submit an anonymous message onlide via worcesterma.gov/police, or call the detective bureau at (508)-799-8651.

In a statement, Good Chemistry noted the break-in took place after business hours, and said it takes security very seriously. It is cooperating with local law enforcement, the company said.

Good Chemistry became the city’s first medical marijuana dispensary in 2018; it became the city’s first retail marijuana dispensary in 2019.
